Windom crowns homecoming king, queen
|Gina Hauge and Neil Litfin were crowned queen and king at Windom's homecoming coronation Saturday night.|
Seniors Neil Litfin and Gina Hauge were crowned king and queen during Windom homecoming coronation ceremonies at Windom Area High School Saturday evening.
Other senior queen candidates included: Meegan Hansen, Holly Larson, Shelby Mattson, Sarah Steele and Jamie Symens.
Other senior king candidates included: Travis Janssen, Landon Johnson, Collin Lovell, Brandon Thongvivong and Eli Yackel-Juleen.
Emcees for coronation were seniors Hanna Low, Cody Sebring and Rachel Witt. Freshmen prince and princess were Ryley Espenson and Leigh Hanefeld.
Coronation kicked off a week of activities at WAHS concluding with the homecoming football game Friday night against Marshall at 7 p.m., and the homecoming dance in the WAHS Commons after the football game.
Students and faculty also are participating in dress-up days throughout the week. They include:
Today - Students: Midas Touch (gold) and Comfy Day. Teachers: Dress to the Max Day (suits, ties and dresses).
Tuesday - Students: Miss-match and Twin Day. Teachers: Dress Down Day.
Wednesday - Students: Favorite Sport Team Day and Go-fer Day. Teachers: Alma Mater Day.
Thursday - Students: Class Shirt Day. Teachers: Red Hot & Passionate for Education Day (wear red).
Friday - All: Eagle Spirit Day.
In addition to Friday's football game, other homecoming week varsity sporting events include: Volleyball at Martin County West (Trimont), Tuesday, 4:45 p.m.; and cross country at Alexandria, Saturday, 10:30 a.m.
